Phil and Steve Mahre
Olympic Medalists
It was a thrill and an honor to represent our country at different
skiing competitions throughout our careers. Our goals were to be
better skiers tomorrow than we were today. We had some sayings over
the years, “Keep it in the family,” “If I don't
win you'd better,” “Be nice to the people on the way
up, they're the same ones you’ll see on the way down.”
With that philosophy, hard work, dedication and perseverance, we
competed on three Olympic and World Championship Teams, winning
medals on both. We'll always have fond memories of those moments,
and I'm sure they've had an influence on who we are today, but life
moves on, as have we. We both have families, and take great pride
in our children and their aspirations. The Mahre Training Center
was formed to inspire people to take that next step in their own
skiing, as well as give back to the sport that we had received so
much from.
