Phil and Steve Mahre



In their years on the World Cup alpine skiing circuit, the Mahres elevated American skiing to it highest point in history.  Phil won the Overall World Cup title three consecutive years, while Steve won the 1982 World Championship Giant Slalom title.  The Mahre brothers culminated their spectacular skiing careers by winning gold and silver medals in the slalom at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia.

Camp Director-

Chris Katzenberger

Chris came to Deer Valley in March of 2004. Previous to that time she was a ski instructor at Solitude Ski Resort 1982 - 1984; Snowbird Ski School Supervisor 1984 -1995; a Deer Valley Ski School Supervisor 1996 -1998; and with the United States Ski and Snowboard Coaches Education Department 1998 -2004. Past Intermountain Masters racing awards include winning the Intermountain Jan’s Cup, U.S. Masters National Overall and Sun Valley Skotch Cup. Chris has also been a member of P.S.I.A. (Professional Ski Instructors of America) for 20 years, where she has served as an examiner and clinic leader. She is also a national level coach with USSA (United States Ski and Snowboard Association).

All coaches are personally trained by Phil and Steve Mahre in the Mahre Training Center methodology.  Hand-picked for their ability to communicate, demonstrate and interact with their students, these are the finest coaches available.
